Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) are a diverse group of autoimmune diseases characterized primarily by muscle weakness and systemic involvement, which can include interstitial lung disease (ILD). ILD is a serious complication in IIM, significantly affecting patient prognosis and quality of life. Early identification of IIM patients at risk for developing ILD is crucial for timely intervention and personalized treatment, yet the factors contributing to this risk remain inadequately defined.

Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) involves systemic inflammation of small to medium vessels, with central nervous system (CNS) involvement being rare. While CT (computed tomography) and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) are standard for diagnosing CNS involvement, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) is infrequently used. We present a unique EGPA case with CNS involvement and review EGPA CNS vascular variations.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that can cause joint destruction, pain, loss of function, and reduced quality of life. Recent advancements in treatment have made it possible to control the impacts of this once-debilitating disease through early intervention. While numerous studies have examined barriers to rheumatoid arthritis care, no review has synthesized sociodemographic and economic factors across high-, upper middle-, and lower middle-income countries. This gap in the literature highlights the need for a comprehensive review that informs global health interventions. This review explores sociodemographic and economic barriers to initial specialist care for patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease frequently treated with TNF inhibitors. Little is known about predictors of response to TNF inhibitors. Because clinical response in rheumatoid arthritis is measured by composite scores containing subjective patient-orientated domains (eg, pain and global disease perception), we hypothesised that patients with high disease representation in the CNS might respond better to TNF inhibitors than patients with less CNS disease representation.

Musculoskeletal adverse events due to immune checkpoint inhibitors are common and can present clinically as inflammatory arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, or arthralgia. The pathoanatomy of musculoskeletal adverse events related to immune checkpoint inhibitors remains undefined, with a paucity of available imaging data. We aimed to investigate the whole-body imaging phenotype of arthralgia and inflammatory arthritis following exposure to immune checkpoint inhibitors, to fully characterise the pattern of inflammation in these patients and subsequently inform clinical management.

FMF is an autoinflammatory disease associated with mutations in the MEFV gene. While typically inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern, heterozygous individuals may also exhibit FMF symptoms, often with a milder disease course. The long-term management of colchicine therapy in heterozygous patients, particularly decisions regarding its discontinuation, remains a clinical challenge.

Lung ultrasound (LUS) is emerging as a valuable tool for assessing systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD), although it traditionally explores only superficial lung regions. Building upon our preliminary findings, this study investigated correlations between quantitative LUS scores and automated quantitative computed tomography (qCT) measurement of ILD extent, including both superficial and deeper lung involvement.
