Mental health challenges among physicians represent a critical public health issue with profound implications for health care delivery and workforce sustainability. Despite the proven effectiveness of mental health treatment in improving outcomes, most physicians with mental health conditions do not seek help. This treatment gap is particularly concerning given that physicians experience elevated rates of burnout, depression, anxiety, and suicide risk compared with the general population, with resulting effects on physician well-being, patient care quality, and health care system stability.
