Many clinical investigations depend on participant self-report as a principal method of identifying health care events. If self-report is used as the trigger to collect and adjudicate medical records, any event that is not reported by the patient will be missed by the investigators, reducing the power of the study and misrepresenting the risk of its participants. We sought to determine the rates and predictors of underreporting hospitalization events during the follow-up period of a prospective study of patients hospitalized with an acute myocardial infarction.

Dual antiplatelet therapy with aspirin and a P2Y12 inhibitor has been shown to reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) compared with aspirin alone after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or acute coronary syndrome but with increased risk of bleeding. The safety of discontinuing aspirin in favor of P2Y12 inhibitor monotherapy remains disputed.

In response to the public health emergency created by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, American Heart Association volunteers and staff aimed to rapidly develop and launch a resource for the medical and research community to expedite scientific advancement through shared learning, quality improvement, and research. In <4 weeks after it was first announced on April 3, 2020, AHA's COVID-19 CVD Registry powered by Get With The Guidelines received its first clinical records.

Patients with heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) typically develop dyspnea and pulmonary congestion upon exercise. Lung ultrasound is a simple diagnostic tool, providing semiquantitative assessment of extravascular lung water through B-lines. It has been shown that patients with HFpEF develop B-lines upon submaximal exercise stress echocardiography; however, whether exercise-induced pulmonary congestion carries prognostic implications is unknown. This study aimed at evaluating the prognostic value of B-line assessment during exercise in patients with HFpEF.
