Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is characterised by gastrointestinal (GI) and psychological symptoms (e.g., depression, anxiety, and somatization). Depression and anxiety, but not somatization, have already been associated with altered intestinal barrier function, increased LPS, and dysbiosis. The study aimed to investigate the possible link between somatization and intestinal barrier in IBS with diarrhoea (IBS-D) patients.

Vonoprazan is more potent and longer acting than traditional proton pump inhibitor. Although vonoprazan is expected to be superior to proton pump inhibitor, its efficacy in the treatment of gastric ulcers following endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is not fully understood. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of vonoprazan in artificial ulcer healing following ESD.

The effect of time delay from diagnosis to surgery on the prognosis of elderly patients with liver cancer is not well known. Wilson's disease (WD) is a rare autosomal recessive disease associated with defective biliary excretion of copper. The simultaneous occurrence of WD and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has seldom been reported. Therefore, this study aimed to report the co-occurrence of SLE and WD with hepatic involvement in a patient so as to improve the understanding of the coexistence of these two conditions.

Percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage (PTGBD) is recommended for acute cholecystitis patients at high risk for surgical treatment. However, there is no evidence about the best timing of surgery after PTGBD. Here, we retrospectively investigated the influence of the interval between PTGBD and surgery on perioperative outcomes and examined the optimal timing of surgery after PTGBD.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICPIs) have changed the way advanced malignancies are currently confronted, improving cancer patients' outcomes but also generating distinct immune-related (ir) adverse events. ICPIs-induced colitis is a common complication showing different clinical and histological manifestations. In the literature review, 14 cases with ICPIs related colon granulomas have been reported in 5 studies with either limited or unavailable information regarding histology. Granulomatous reactions can be mistakenly perceived as disease recurrence or progression. Better understanding and identification of this infrequent histological display can help to avoid misdiagnosis and mismanagement.

Endoscopic papillectomy of duodenal papillary tumors (PT) is indicated for adenomas or well-differentiated adenocarcinomas that do not involve the sphincter of Oddi. However, there is currently no reliable pre-operative method to diagnose the infiltration in the sphincter of Oddi.' Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA protein 3 (IMP3) staining is reportedly associated with advanced disease stage and clinical outcomes in many carcinomas. The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the ability of diagnosing sphincter of Oddi involvement in PT and predicting the prognoses using IMP3 immunohistochemistry.
6057. Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia presenting as limb hemihyperplasia: a case report and literature review.
Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia is an exceedingly rare disorder. Epidemiology is unknown. It usually presents with lower extremity swelling, diarrhea, ascites, and protein-losing enteropathy. Since the pathogenesis of edema is usually due to hypoalbuminemia; both extremities are typically involved. The edema can rarely be due to abnormal lymphatic circulation, causing lymphedema, which usually involves both extremities as well. Diagnosis is made by the constellation of clinical, biochemical, endoscopic, and histological findings. Treatment involves dietary modification, to reduce lymphatic dilation in response to dietary fat. Other pharmacologic (e.g., octreotide) and replacement measures may be indicated as well. The most serious long-term complication is intestinal lymphoma. Herein is a case of Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia presenting with unilateral lower limb swelling.
